Poltergeist
Take one piece of Polanski running from the US justice. Take one piece of story about Tony Blair and his alleged war crimes. Turn them into a movie, name it The Ghost Writer, get Pierce Brosnan be Tony Blair – under a different name, of course – get Ewan McGregor be his ghost and there you have it, a true poltergeist. A two hours long running around with the ego of a director who thinks he changes the world. It is funny to see something like that coming from a guy who has spent his entire life running from justice. How easily we throw the stone on others. Morality aside: the plot is weak, the thrill is missing and Tony Blair is an idiot manipulated by the CIA into doing all the horrible things he has done. There is, however, one thing that I liked. Take two airplanes, one of them with completely free check-in, without any passenger control of any kind. The other one will be with controlled access only, the information that lead to control were obtained from a terrorist suspect via torture. On which air plane do you think all the human rights activists would put their children on?
Stars on my movie meter: three out of five.
