The Force Is Strong in This One
In Federer, that is. He left us really not much to say about the final of the Australian Open. I mean there is only a number of ways in which you can write about his skills and talent and tennis from another world. I will not even try. At the awards, in the speeches of the two players, Murray has said that he could cry like Federer, but he could not play like him. That’s the thing, is it not? You cannot play like Federer. You can certainly try but it will not do you any good. The copy can never be as good as the original. The only thing that could work against Master Yoda is to play something else. Your own game. Nadal has done this. Del Potro has done this. The problem is that while it may get you a victory over the Master in one tournament, the second time he will have read your game and fur sure it would not be enough without further improvements. And this is where Federer leaves his mark. The best players out there improve their game because of him. They may not win, but they surely play a better tennis. And this is what the likes of Federer, Schumacher, and Hendry bring to their sports. The improvement of competition. One could argue that it is a bit boring to see one guy win it all. To these I can only tell to go clean their glasses. For the display of tennis from Federer this Sunday was anything but boring. The Force is indeed strong in him.

Indeed it is. For Federer has reached yet another level of his art. And you cannot but love him for that.
