The Sorcerer and the Apprentice

I know that I got the title wrong. Again, I might add. But I am sorry; this is what I’ve seen. There is no The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, there is the Sorcerer and then the apprentice. It is like watching two different movies, one with Nicolas Cage, Alfred Molina and Monica Bellucci and the second one with an idiot. Sadly the first has a smaller part but as long as it is on screen it is worth every minute. Nicolas Cage is great as usually, Alfred Molina is the bad guy again and he does it well again. Monica Bellucci only appears towards the end and fulfills her role perfectly, which is just to look great. As for the other movie from within, just how long are we going to get these stupid little movies, huh? I mean when we get a superhero that saves the world, does he have to be an idiot? Can’t it be just for a change a normal person? Just how thick are you Hollywood writers? I know that the USA is the land of opportunities and stuff but I just had it with the idiot who turns into Merlin, defeats the undefeatable, saves the world, gets the girl and lives happily ever after. Just to give you an idea: the most memorable line from the whole movie belongs to another movie and to Obi Wan Kenobi: ‘These are not the droids you’re looking for’. Finite Incantatem.

Stars on my movie meter: three out of five (None for the idiot, let’s be clear. One for Nicolas Cage, one for Monica Bellucci and one for Star Wars.).
